PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh community is mourning the untimely loss of Evan Gingo, 18, who tragically passed away Friday in a devastating multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township, Butler County.

Authorities report that rapidly changing winter weather contributed to a series of collisions involving at least 25 vehicles, forcing the closure of both northbound and southbound lanes between Exits 78 and 88 for several hours. Nine others were injured and transported to local hospitals. The Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the incident.
