Nathan Murray Smith, Known as DJ Young Slade, Reported Missing, Found Dead

MILTON, Ga. — The Milton community and the music world are mourning the loss of Nathan Murray Smith, 27, professionally known as DJ Young Slade, whose body was recovered Friday, February 6, 2026, near his home in Milton.

Smith was reported missing on February 3 after leaving his residence around 6 a.m. without his phone. Authorities launched an immediate search, deploying multiple K-9 units, including a specialized bloodhound from the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office, and canvassing nearby neighborhoods and bodies of water.

At approximately 11:53 a.m. Friday, the Cherokee County Fire Department recovered a body from a pond near the intersection of Mayfield Road and Baldwin Drive. While officials are awaiting positive identification and an official cause of death from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, authorities believe the body is Smith’s. Law enforcement has stated that foul play is not suspected, though the investigation remains ongoing.

Smith was the son of Atlanta rapper and producer Lil Jon, whose legal name is Jonathan Smith. Known for his creativity, musical talent, and strong connection to his community, DJ Young Slade left a lasting impression on friends, collaborators, and fans alike.
