MOUNT PROSPECT, Illinois — A train collision in Mount Prospect today left multiple people injured and caused major disruptions to Metra rail service, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred just before midday on the Union Pacific/Northwest Line near Central Road and Main Street, when a commuter train struck a vehicle on the tracks. Emergency responders, including the Mount Prospect Fire Department, police, and paramedics, quickly arrived on the scene.

Officials reported that several individuals sustained injuries and were treated at nearby hospitals. While the extent of the injuries has not been fully released, initial reports indicate that none were life-threatening.
